Let's be honest for a moment and admit to everyone that I've been home since January 3 and I have yet to blog about my trip home. Once you get thrown back into reality you find that there is never enough time to accomplish 50% of the things you wish you could. This post is going to be mostly said in pictures because if I were to blog about my whole trip I'd be here all night. To begin with, my trip home included WAY too much food. Not a bad thing, just a statement. We had Christmas at the beach and that was super fun..for the most part. You throw 5 Forsyth's into a 2 bedroom condo for a few days and we kinda start to drive each other crazy. It happens because we are Forsyth's.
These two pictures are of my dear parents. Mom's "testing the waters" and dad is attempting to fly away on a bike that doesn't move due to it being chained to the fence. This made me giggle.
Typical picture of mom and I in our matching pajamas. Yay for traditions!
Though you can hardly see this picture it was the only one I got the whole trip with both of my brothers. I think it sums up our personalities. Cal- trying to find the best way to use his GoPro to capture the best shot. Shelby (me) just wanting one decent picture and trying not to make a big fuss about it. Dylan- probably thinking "this is a nightmare. I'm considering jumping off this balcony if we don't take this picture soon."
Now that Christmas is over the next big thing was my trip to The Wonderful Wizarding World of Harry Potter with my best friend, Francis. It was apart of Islands of Adventure in Orlando so the first few pictures are of us at the other parts of the park. This was the most magical day ever (laugh at the pun, please). I loved being able to spend the day with Francis. I miss being away from her during the year so when we are together our memories are extra special.
For all those who wished they were there!
Ironically the first ride we rode that day was in Seussville and got us quite wet. Bad decision on our part, though still fun!
Isn't this the most beautiful sight ever (The castle, not me)?
I love this picture. It shows the completely wrong facial expression for how I felt about ButterBeer. It was AMAZING! Maybe this face is wishing that drink would never end...
Next on my wonderful journey was NEW YEARS EVE! I spent the evening with some of my most favorite people ever. We sat by the fire, played games, ate lots of food, and laughed for hours. It was the best. I love coming home to good friends.
The gang: (from L to R) Katherine, Me, Francis, Justin, and Mason
I didn't realize when I uploaded this that my eyes were shut. Oh well. Love my girls!
The last few pictures are some of my favorites from the whole trip. Look at the captions to see why!
I went to lunch with Hannah and Sarah. It's a tradition every Christmas Break. We go to Ken's BBQ. Yum. Hannah and Sarah are some of the best friends I've ever had. I love them both so much. I am grateful for Hannah and her letting me text her anytime with all my life issues. I am grateful for Sarah and being my Southern Soul Sister in Provo. They both are the biggest blessings!
A trip to the South wouldn't be complete without shooting Dad's guns. I did fairly well! I also love this picture because it shows my beautiful backyard.
This picture I feel is a good way to end my post about Florida. You know you're in the South when half of a grocery isle is dedicated to cooking oil. You know how we love everything deep fried!
Though Florida doesn't feel like home anymore, it's where my roots will forever be buried. I love my Southern values and all of the life lessons I learned in that hot, humid, state!
