Make Your Soul Happy.

I feel somewhat selfish since it's the 24th of November and I haven't publicly been thankful for anything this month. You see all the FaceBook statuses and the Tweets and when you realize that you haven't been doing that you can't decide if that's a blessing or a curse. Sure, it saves everyone from having to constantly know what you're thankful for but it also doesn't help with the fact that 20 years from now I won't remember what I was thankful for in 2013. So without further adieu, here are 13 things of what I am most thankful for in 2013.
1. Family. At the end of the day if you don't have something worth fighting for than there really is nothing worth living for. I am thankful for my parents and their sacrifices, I am thankful for my brothers and their support, I am thankful for my Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, and cousins who are always there when I need them and who show me loving support daily.
2. Good Health. This year has been a tough one for the Forsyth's when it comes to sickness. From mom's cancer, to Dylan's stomach problems, to my kidney infection, to three of us having the flu, I can happily say that we all our back in good health.
3. BYU. There will never be a day where I will regret the education I am receiving at BYU. It has been the biggest blessing in my life and I couldn't be more lucky to attend a University where I get to grow closer to Christ while gaining secular knowledge.
4. Friends. I have made some fantastic friends this year. From roommates to coworkers to all the people in between I could not be more lucky to have found the greatest support system ever. Life is so much easier when there are at least a few people that go above and beyond to show that they love you.

5. My job. I am always grateful for my job with Provo School District as an online aide. I get to work around my school schedule, work with great people, and I get to gain knowledge that will be helpful for my future as an EL ED teacher. I love the eSchool!
6. Sweets and Treats. It seems that a day doesn't go by where I don't indulge myself with sweets or treats. From randomly baking when I'm bored or visiting the Sweet Tooth Fairy on a bad day nothing makes me as happy as something sweet.
7. My car. Maybell (my car) will forever be one of my biggest blessings. Even though I drive a 1999 Camry she has certainly taken me places. She drove me to Utah and here she continues to be an easy way to get the things done I need to get done. I love that I have the freedom to do what I want, when I want.
8. FaceTime. I have many days where I miss home. Just kidding, every single day I miss home. I have been blessed and I am grateful for FaceTime. I get to see my family whenever I want without being there in person. Thank Heaven for technology.
9. Sunshine. I'm a Florida girl forever and I hate winter in Utah. It's hard and dreary and I miss the sunshine!
10. Changes. I know this is an odd thing to be thankful for, but this year I have been put through a lot of changes. I am not always accepting of change but this year I am grateful for the changes I have been put through.
11. Naps. Does this really need an explanation other than the fact that I'm a working college student?
12. Insurance of all kinds. This year I got in my first car accident and I got my first CT scan. I am grateful for insurance because without it, let's face it, i'd be broke.
13. Jesus Christ and the Gospel. I love the relationship I have with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I am grateful for the atonement and that through Jesus Christ all my sins can be forgiven. I am eternally thankful.

102 Days.

Well Folks, it's been exactly 102 days since my car left home and headed out west. Each day that I'm away from home I discover more about myself, my relationships, and my Heavenly Father. It's hard to place a time or a date to your life changing especially when it happens over a period of time and through many hard lessons. Now more than ever I realize the importance of relying on my Heavenly Father in all times, in all things, and in all places. I have such a testimony of the love my Savior gives me. He is my constant companion and he is my everything. At times things can get dark and things can get lonely. During these moments of trial we too often forget our divine worth. We were all sent here with a unique and special plan. We were destined for greatness and we were destined to allow ourselves to achieve that divine potential. I have learned to never give up on my Savior, because when I don't give up on him I don't give up on myself. These past 102 days have...

Coming to an end.

Considering my last post was in October, this morning I woke up and finally wanted to let the fingers type and do the talking. Since October my life has changed and I have grown so much. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher and I also always knew that I have both of my parents running through my blood. What this means for me is that I have this incredible drive to push myself to limits that haven't been set. My beautiful mother gave me passion for education. She constantly sets the example of the most excellent educator and one day I hope to be as successful as she is and was in the classroom. My mother gave me the realistic expectations that come with teaching, such as not always getting my way or having things work out in the way I would like them to. Bless her soul for being my constant supporter. My father gave me the drive to work hard and to never give up. He works construction and there hasn't been one thing that he hasn't finished once he set his mind to it. He...

A Letter to Asher Rae.

Baby Asher, Your momma is currently in labor and in a few hours you'll make your grand debut into this world. From the moment I knew you were coming I was in shock and how much my heart could grow. I work with sweet children all day and I love them so much. The love I already have for you is so different. You'll be the first grandchild of my parents, and you'll be my first ever niece. You're coming into a world that is incredibly hard and difficult. With your amazing parents in your life you'll be taught how to be strong and to be valiant in all circumstances. Your dad, my brother, is an excellent human being. He is dedicated, he is a dreamer, he is a hard worker, and he will be the most amazing father. Your mom is so beautiful. She is loving, she is patient, and she loves your dad so much. Your grandma, my mom, is SO excited for you. She will love you and spoil you, but she will also help you when things get hard. Your Grandma Forsyth is a tough woman. The toughes...
