Dearest Utah

My dear sweet Utah,
What an amazing three weeks you've given me. You always will be my home away from home and I will always be grateful for my summers spent with you. Utah, you teach me a lot every single time I'm with you, and this year you've given me much to be thankful for. You have taught me that family is never that far away. You have taught me that life in itself gives great challenges, but those challenges make me stronger. You have taught me that one of my most favorite things is seeing my grandparents hold hands while walking together. You have taught me that the mountains are the most beautiful place in the world. You have taught me that the stars are so much brighter when you are actually looking for them. You have taught me how much I am blessed to have such amazing friends back home. You have taught me that it's okay not to look your best every day. You have taught me that Law & Order: SVU is a slight addiction shared by my cousins and myself. You have taught me how to laugh when I feel like crying. You have taught me that there is calmness in being able to breathe. You have taught me that my family is the greatest family on earth. You have taught me that my grandpa's stories will never get old. You have taught me that the food in grandma's fridge is almost always old, but there will always be goodies in the storage room. You have taught me that Rachel and Carly are growing up and this will probably be the last summer before our lives change from being kids, to being adults. You have taught me that the creation of life is most precious and that my cousin Amy will make the most beautiful mother. You have taught me that when I am at a low point in my life, that's when family steps in the most. You have taught me that love does exist and that Alisen will make a most fabulous addition to our family. You have taught me that families are forever. Most importantly Utah, you have taught me that I am strong and I can make it through. My life is just beginning and being surrounded by people who love me is the greatest blessing.

  2. I hope it also teaches you that no matter how green you want the other side to be or how green it is dont forget that your side of the fence has some mighty pretty green in it too and like I know you always do you can spread a little green paint around on your side when you need to. Always be able to find the green on your side of the fence.

A Letter to Asher Rae.

Baby Asher, Your momma is currently in labor and in a few hours you'll make your grand debut into this world. From the moment I knew you were coming I was in shock and how much my heart could grow. I work with sweet children all day and I love them so much. The love I already have for you is so different. You'll be the first grandchild of my parents, and you'll be my first ever niece. You're coming into a world that is incredibly hard and difficult. With your amazing parents in your life you'll be taught how to be strong and to be valiant in all circumstances. Your dad, my brother, is an excellent human being. He is dedicated, he is a dreamer, he is a hard worker, and he will be the most amazing father. Your mom is so beautiful. She is loving, she is patient, and she loves your dad so much. Your grandma, my mom, is SO excited for you. She will love you and spoil you, but she will also help you when things get hard. Your Grandma Forsyth is a tough woman. The toughes...

COVID

The world of COVID-19 has been a world I never imagined possible. While this time has taken away so many things I am grateful for the things it has given me. I've found my new normal and for someone who loves structure that has been a huge relief. I don't feel the need to do as much. I don't feel as rushed. I dropped my ipad on the tile today and cracked the screen pretty badly and I didn't even cry. Things have become things and my trips to Target don't seem as crucial anymore. I've been sewing. I thank my grandmas and my aunts for their love of sewing that is now ingrained on my heart. I watch a lot of TV. I do a lot of cooking. Who knew?

Just in the nick of time.

If any of you really know me, you know that I'm a freak when it comes to time. I consider myself late if I'm not at least five minutes early. Well lately I think time has been trying to make me even more crazy than I already am. Today it was my day to drive to college (I car pull with one of my friends) and we both know that I'm a very careful driver and am against going over 5 miles the speed limit. We leave the school late, but luckily we made it in time. After college I went back to school to kill time before I had to pick up Dylan. I wasn't paying attention to the clock, and was almost late again. Lucky for me Dylan's bus was late today, making me not late either. YAY ! Next I'm at home getting ready for the Junior Class Parent meeting that I am in charge of, and I started falling behind on all the things I needed to get done for my meeting. I leave the house really late this time, and because I don't speed, I was late to my own meeting. Once again ...
