I am so blessed. It was such a beautiful Florida Monday, and it is the first Monday I have not hated in a very very long time. I have to say that nothing went wrong today, in fact, everything was simply..normal. I love good days, I think you'd be crazy if you didn't. The weather is amazing. It is chilly in the mornings, and perfect in the afternoons. There is nothing as great as the Florida Sunshine, which I might take advantage of tomorrow by spending some time basking in the rays. I received a letter today from an amazing boy I know named Logan. He is serving a church mission for two years, which means two years of heartfelt letters. His sense of humor shines through each letter, and I can't help but laugh at the things he says. It brings me closer to my new friend, and for this I am thankful. No matter where you are, no matter where you live, there is always someone who is struggling. Take a minute, and pray for these people. Everyone has moments where they need that prayer, even if you don't personally know the person. I feel like the world is spinning at a crazy speed, and I am losing time thanks to the awful earthquake that tilted the Earth just a tad. If you don't believe me, Google it! I would like to claim this Family Week for Simply Shelby. To start off my family week, I will first tell you about the Fab Forsyth Five. My family is anything but normal, and we are the craziest people you will ever meet. When we are together, Heaven smiles. My oldest brother, Cal, is a 20 year old, who is still finding out the hardest parts of life. He stays strong, despite all his challenges. He spends way to much money(he gets that from my father) on silly things, but you can't help but love the great Christmas presents. I love him to DEATH, just like I love the little brother, Dylan. Dylan has a free spirit, and he moves at his own pace. I'm sure he'll never miss anything in life, because of his slow-moving pace. You gotta love him, though. My parents are fantastic, and my mother is my best friend. Half the time I have to keep her in line, other than her keeping me in line. I'm okay with that though. For all of you reading, take a moment and tell the most important people in your life how much you love them, I think they'll enjoy it. (:
One day I'll get around to sharing the story about how I applied for and got my new job. I have to say that it most certainly is 100% credited to my Heavenly Father and his plan for my life. Often we don't see the things we need in life until things are put into our path that lead us in a different direction. For the purpose of this post I wanted to share some thoughts being on the outside of the beginning of a new school year. This is mostly for my teacher friends and those who start teaching this year so if you get bored, please do yourself a favor and stop reading. Being a teacher is a tough gig. Daily we make thousands of split-second decisions and impact people in ways we will never fully know the extent of. John Hattie once said, "know thy impact." Each day you'll strive to be better than the day before. You'll hope and pray that your babies (students) will learn something more than just "things." We'll hope and pray that they learn how t...
Thank you for this post. When do I get to read a letter? Maybe I should send one first huh? Love you my daughter.
