It has been one of those days. I got off work, had to go grocery shopping, realized I left my grocery list at work, and ended up buying basically everything I wanted instead of everything I needed. It really goes to show you that sometimes you just have to go with the flow. I got home, unloaded the groceries, ate dinner and discovered that I had the motivation to do absolutely..nothing. After watching the latest Nashville episode (which I highly recommend watching) I realized I better do something productive. For about two weeks our bathroom sick hasn't been draining the best. Living with 5 other girls I was honestly surprised it hadn't clogged up before now. Girls tend to lose lots of things in their sinks. While grocery shopping I decided to be proactive and buy Drano (which from far away looks like Draco..Harry Potter nerd for life, yo) for our sink. I was just about sick and tired of the draining being slower than a sailboat on a wind-less day. So I put the Drano in the sink and waited 30 minutes waiting for a miracle to happen. I turn on the sink and.. it was still clogged. I went for round 2, waited over an hour this time, and yet the stupid sink was still clogged. After accepting defeat that my $3 spent on Drano wasn't $3 well spent, I decided it was time to get down to business. I can be my father's daughter sometimes whether in stubbornness or the pure will to get stuff done. I was determined. I knew that the only way I was going to be able to fix the sink was to go down under (not to Australia people, let's be real) the sink and unclog the pipes. Thankfully about 4 months before moving to Utah I watched as my mom undid the pipes under the sink back home and unclog it. I untwisted the pipes, broke a hanger apart, and got to digging all the junk out. This is a gross process, yall. I don't recommend anyone with a weak stomach doing this. After about 10 minutes of unclogging, the sink was draining normally. I put the pipes back on, cleaned up my mess, and washed my hands in the new unclogged sink. I sang outloud, "I am a champion, my friends." I grabbed a diet coke (not needed purchase from grocery shopping) and sat down to enjoy the sense of pride I felt. Sometimes a girl really has to do what a girl has to do.
